Hanoi launches writing contest focusing on environmental protection
The Hanoi People’s Committee has recently issued its 2025 Environmental Communication Program.
THE HANOI TIMES — A citywide writing contest focusing on environmental protection has been launched in Hanoi to promote innovative models, technical solutions, and practical ideas for safeguarding the environment.
The contest, running from June to December 2025, is a key component of a plan that has been issued by the local government.

Submissions should align with the implementation of the 2024 Capital Law and key policy directives that support developing low-emission zones in the city and encourage residents to switch from personal vehicles to public transportation and other eco-friendly alternatives.
Winning entries will be published in Kinh te & Do thi (Economic and Urban) Newspaper and other central and local media outlets.
Alongside the writing contest, Hanoi will host communications campaigns on environmental protection throughout the year. The local agencies have been tasked with raising awareness about climate change risks and environmental responsibilities, including school and community outreach, expert seminars and forums, and collaborative campaigns in pollution-affected areas.
These efforts aim to garner public support for Hanoi’s vision of creating cleaner, greener, and more beautiful urban and rural environments.
Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper serves as the lead agency for coordinating with grassroots authorities and stakeholders to implement the campaign citywide.
